 I recently acquired this Japanese vase and added it to my collection of still life props, in this instance I used it in a combination with orange and I think it went well color-wise.

Fresh off the easel, this is a new intimist piece that I just painted, the warm daylight coming from the left travelling across all the shapes in the room, the subtle nuances of light always intrigue me.

There's a preliminary drawing in charcoal that I did for this painting couple of months back so I decided to finally paint it, the drawings are not necessarily identical to the paintings and I'm not using them for tracing purposes, they both stand on their own, its for a better understanding of shapes particularly and the basic planes of light and shadow, the color comes organically.
