a handful of them on a really low starting bid auction, they are dated differently and you can see variations in the style too,

some of the paintings are more elaborate and took some time to finish, some are quickly resolved sketches,

Male portrait 6x9 oil on paper

Second oil sketch from the same day, looks more like its been done with acrylics rather then oil because of the paper's quick absorbing properties, also the values look lighter then actual, the painting will get the proper finished look once a final layer of varnish is been applied.

"Portrait of a young man with a beard" 8x10 oil on panel

A glimpse into the work process, this is the beginning stage where I established the major values on the face, this way I can judge correctly the rest of the shapes and values, its one way to start a painting and every painting is different and so is the start, but I usually adjust the beginning according to the given subject and circumstances.

"Carrie" Female profile 5x7 Alla prima oil portrait painting

5 x 7 inches Oil on Canvas panel
Full profile here, I visualized this painting in my head first and where do I want the face to be exactly and decided further right, makes it more interesting instead of the usual middle of the canvas placement, it also points where she's looking in a more direct way.

"Peach in purple" floral still life

6 x 6 inch Oil on canvas

Before I actually compose the still life I like to visualize it, in this case it was mostly color combinations, I like to have an idea what its gonna look like prior to the actual object arrangement, the only thing that wouldn't agree to that was the actual peach, it would just not sit still, you'd think it should just stay flat on the table but no..., its like a sitter that likes to move a lot, I fixated it between the foldings and it seemed to work!

"Brass cup with a rose"

6 x 6 inch Oil on canvas

Haven't really painted a still life in a while so I decided to do one yesterday, I had this small antique cup that I used for the setup and I put the flower over it for a more organic effect, I don't really like when the still life is too 'properly' arranged.

"Reclining female nude" 6x8 Original figurative art daily painting

6 x 8 inch Oil on linen on Panel

I really like these Robert Simmons Signet brushes that I just started using, they're great for applying heavier strokes of paint and they're also very flexible, for the middle values and transitions I usually use a mongoose brush, so I balance between the two, mostly flats though...

"Daily ritual" urban scene

5" x 7" Oil on canvas on panel

How many of us go through the same routine every day, following the familiar routes that are safer, the forces of habit keep our minds locked in the same comfortable patterns that govern each day.

"The Urban Philosopher" 6x8 Daily Painting Old Man figure by Daniel Peci

6" x 8" Oil on canvas on panel

It's fascinating how direct sunlight reveals everything about us leaving very little hidden in the back alley of the subconscious, the source of life envelopes and animates multitude living forms at the same time and breathes as one single unit.
