A friend of mine brought this bottle of chardonnay and somehow i was provoked to paint it, as you can see the bottle is opened but almost full, so No I haven't been drinking from it, I am not a heavy drinker as you can see, I was painting it, not drinking it :)

This is a larger Intimist piece in an interior setting and it deals with introspection, the figure in the chair gives an impression of a troubled mind seeking a solution in a cup of drink.

Another L.A. Alleyscape, there's more contrast in this one the shadows from the houses and the brightness of the sky created a more dramatic exterior, as you can see there's a building in perspective that tends to dissapear in the middle of the painting, I like that subtle effect.

This is a new piece from my small portraits series,it's got a classic posture and feel done in a traditional way with layers of oil, certain parts got some thick paint with raw brushtrokes.

This was a tricky job for me, I've set up the object outside which is not a common thing to do with subjects like this, the day was really shaky and moody changing from sunny to dark, so the lighting and all the shadows on the paper were in a constant change, I tried to capture a single moment of that transience on the canvas.

Another one from the L.A. cityscape series, I love the perspective on this one and the depth of the landscape,the objects disappear in distance and all the shiny reflections on the houses are often reduced to dots.

Like a curtain over our eyes we are blind to the reality of things, usually we are not able to see the light behind the curtain of perception, once the curtain is removed we see things as they are in all their glory, light and fullness.

This is another one from my cityscape series, but this one has a lot more color then the previos, yes it was a sunny day also, that changes a lot, im just glad I was able to get all that light and color on my canvas.

This a slightly larger size portrait then the usual postcard size ones that I do, I had lots of fun working on the skin tone, and all the variations that constitute the skin color, its just amazing the subtlety of the pallete that I have to use to get closer to the reality of the observed subject.

I had this idea of starting a new series of paintings, cityscapes mainly, since I'm surrounded by buildings this is my actual LandScape, alleyways are always more interesting to me for some reason then the main street since there's no traffic almost so it gives the exterior a more personal touch.

Ok,,so I did this charcoal drawing before I did the actual painting, I used similar lighting and it was done with a white chalk highlights , I like the loosness and firmness of the lines on this one.

This is one of my larger paintings, still it's not a big difference to me if I'm painting 7x5 postcard sized paintings or larger ones , both need the same attention and details.I liked working on the light coming from the window on this one, its abstract in nature and it takes a larger portion of the painting, it brings the source of anticipation in the figure bellow.
